Trauma & Perfectionism

Sometimes, when we have been through a lot of trauma, our habits can be stuck on wanting everything to be perfect as part of trying to make our environment more predictable given how much unpredictability there was during our trauma. Trauma healing would mean being mindful that not everything has to be perfect all the time to feel safe and comfortable. Learning to be flexible with oneself softens our perfectionist side. -Dr. P
