LGBTQ+ Youth Suicide statistics

American Psychological Association: Research in Psychology, Public Policy, and Law reveals that fewer youth attempt suicide in states with hate crime laws that protect LGBTQ individuals. Between 2015 and 2018, they found that suicide attempt rates were significantly higher for students who identified as gay or lesbian (25.7%), bisexual (27.1%), or questioning (18.5%) than among their heterosexual counterparts (6.3%).
